
West Central provides the following services:
A therapist helps the individual identify specific issues, describe desired outcomes, and agree upon practical steps to accomplish those goals. West Central clinicians are trained to provide a safe and informed process of change that reflects cultural, spiritual, social and biological aspects unique to the individual. In group therapy, clinicians are trained to guide and nurture healthy dynamics among its members that result from safe disclosure and open inquiry.
The focus of this program, targeted for children birth to five years-old, is to provide early identification and interventions for social/emotional issues. This may include family treatment, education, consultation with child care providers, and parent training opportunities.
This community based, family-driven process is designed to build upon a family's strengths, utilizing neutral support systems and community resources, to help a family meet their identified needs.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) helps clients modify their ways of thinking and behaving. DBT helps consumers learn self acceptance along with everyday coping skills that can help them gain better control of their emotions and impulses.
24-hour/7 day a week emergency on-call services are designed to address the safety of community members with regard to mental health needs. Emergent requests from individuals and community agencies are responded to in a timely manner and furnish recommendations for follow-up services, including assistance with psychiatric inpatient admissions when appropriate.
West Central is committed to providing outreach to people with mental illness. Homeless individuals have been identified as a population with a disproportionately high occurrence of untreated mental illness. Clinicians and case managers offer initial assessment, problem-solving counseling and linkage to the mental health center and other community services.
West Central Mental Health Center offers a variety of groups to assist in recovery. Groups are available to all ages, gender specific, and co-ed. We offer groups to provide education, skill building, and support. Your clinician and you can discuss what group(s) may be the most beneficial for you and/or your family member.
